I have really low ceilings. Any tasteful ideas for light fittings?
The only things I can find are spotlights, bathroom lights or really twee metal things with flowers. ARGHHH. The rest of the house is cosy, modern looking but I've just got bare bulbs!

or what about mood lighting for the room.. just pockets of well lite areas…

Go to your local light fixture store and tell them your situation. they have many catalogs with lots of different fixtures in addition to what they have on display. Alternative would be to look online for lighting fixtures. for example:

There are many other on-line light stores just google it.
Hi, I saw some really fantastic lampshades on pure3design.biz , they are handmade silk flowers, just so unusual, absolutely unique and not too expensive considering that each is unique. Certainly very different to all of the souless bright metal stuff around.
Have you tryed looking in IKEA, they have a good selection of modern lighting for all types of house

I think you are right to be suspicious about ClassyWedding. I have a scarf that looks like this one and which I bought at a fair. It is made in China.
It is always suspect when a shop has such diverse items and in such big quantities. I don't think the brooches or pashminas are handmade. And the silk flowers glued onto hair clips are a favorite handmade cop-out on Etsy. The minimum effort makes a very pretty item and is considered handmade. Gag.
